QUILTING HAVING TO TAKE A BACK SEAT FOR A WHILE.

Apologies to visitors who access my Blog in the hope of discovering exciting new quilt projects or blocks.
Patchwork and quilting  has to take a back seat for the present but please keep watching as I might be able to post a picture or two now and again of some ancient undertakings . . . mostly UFO's.  I shall of course still make comments related, or otherwise.

To students reading this - do not panic! Will still be teaching monthly Heirloom Sampler workshops, local Church (Elgar) Groups plus home workshops for worriers!

DERWENT WATER in The Lake District.

I live on the border of the Lake District which is just about the most beautiful place on earth.
The ab0ve picture of Derwent Water was taken this Autumn.  Isn't it lovely?
I feel so privileged to live here where there is so much scope and inspiration for artwork of all descriptions.    The colours are fabulous and everchanging.

NOT FEELIN' GROOVY - FEELIN' GROTTY!

I'm still suffering from this blinking virus which appears to have attacked half the nation.

Have lost the feeling of malaise but left with a red nose (see pic below) and nasty, painful persistent cough that keeps me awake (at night) in spite of Buttercup Cough Syrup - the Lancashire Cure-All.

I wish to thank JAN publicly for finding the Yahoo translator - which I have pinched - and which now adorns the sidebar on this Blog. Eyes right . . . . . .
It's a brilliant find, Jan.  Ta!

Now all you folks from Moscow to Venezuela who regularly visit Babs Banter can now understand wot I'm talking about!

This is reverse side of glamour!  Feeling lousy - sore throat - temperature - am taking to my bed after inhaling with Friar's Balsam - sipping 2 tsps of Buttercup cough syrup and swallowing a Beecham's Powder!

THIS IS HOW I FEEL - HAVE FINALLY CAUGHT THE LURGY!!

A WARM WELCOME TO VISITORS FROM ABROAD!

It is gratifying to see the number of visitors from abroad.

WELCOME to one and all.

I was especially delighted to see that someone from DULUTH, Minnesota dropped by.
I have connections with Minnesota and the Mesabe Iron Range that go back to the 1950's!
Chisholm and Hibbing for example - where Bob Dylan lived.

TIME FOR A CHANGE . . .

But mustn't leave you without a bit of colour to lighten the day - handmade silk cushions!

A NEW DAY DAWNS . . .

Felt a bit 'flat' when I awoke this morning - after all the excitement of the past week.
However, will gird my loins and get cracking on my "List of Exciting To Do's."
AM.
i)    got up
ii)  ablutions
iii) made bed
iv)  had meagre breakfast - yes I know it should be main meal of day - hearty full English and all that but don't wish to be slowed down by leaden weight in stomach.
v)   emptied dishwasher - put pots away only leaves me to . . . .
vi)  empty washing machine - hang up washing
vii) tackle pile of ironing
viii) attend CancerCare meeting.

P.M.
i) light lunch with chum
ii) grocery store for essentials - keep away from Aldi/Lidl (too addictive).
iii) home for cup of tea and water biscuit (not H2O as in gardening)
iv) prepare early supper for invalid.
v)  FREE time to prepare stuff/load car for workshop tomorrow with my GPQ gals - borders 'n bindings!
vi) bed and book (no candle).

There - aren't you envious!

All good things come to an end - but the memory of this lovely weekend will last forever!

Time to go back to the daily plod of cooking with a bit of quilting as entertainment!!

Morning after - Patrick and me en route to Titian and Turner Exhibition at National.s

Surrounded by my loving family - I'm in heaven!!

100% SILK THREADS from Ebay

Received another email this morning from IMRAN giving me the Recorded Mail Track # for package posted on 24th December. It would seem that the PO are at fault and I would not wish to damage IMRAN'S business with poor publicity.
However, I will not raise a cheer until the threads are safely in my hands.
